We also have them at the front door, the rear of the house, and in our barn. Another one is installed at the back of our property, which is also about 600 feet away from the house.

Wifi Strength Matters to Home Security
Optimal operation for the camera doesn’t even require super high speed internet. For example, we live in a rural area and the best internet option that is available to residents in our area is through a company that offers internet to rural areas via a signal that’s transmitted through the air. There’s a “radio” on our roof that has a line of sight to a tower located on a mountain. While we don’t have high speed internet via fiber optics, we still have great wifi transmission to the cameras located at various places around our 10 acres. I attribute that to our upgraded router, explained below.
Router Upgrade
Obviously, the better the internet speed, and the stronger the wifi signal, the more optimal the camera operation will be. Initially, we had just a few cameras on our old wifi router. About the same time, we added more cameras, a FireStick, Roku Stick, iPad, and laptop. That was in addition to the devices we already had using wifi. As a result, some devices were automatically getting kicked off. It seemed that so many devices were bogging down my 8 year old router, which was nearly top of the line when I bought it. However, technology is constantly improving. Routers can now handle far more devices at a time than they used to. Quickly, I made a decision to upgrade my wifi router. I spent quite a bit of time finding just the right router since we needed something that worked for longer distances.
I upgraded to a Nighthawk ZX5400 Wifi 6 Router https://amzn.to/3JfzsGS. Now, I’m downloading images way faster and watching videos with no lag whatsoever. I should have done this a long time ago. With what we now consider to be screaming wifi, I can give an honest assessment as to how the camera operates. It really does work extremely well for such a budget friendly camera.
Camera Intercom for Home Security
One of the features that I love about this camera is that it has an intercom. My youngest daughter took on the responsibility of bottle feeding a baby goat. Having the ability to talk through the camera, allowed me to monitor the goat and ask my daughter if she needed help.
Being able to check on our little goat at night is easy, as it has a night option that allows for viewing in color.

With an SD card installed, I have the ability to go back and watch previous videos. It’s also handy to have the option to maneuver the camera up and down as well as side to side.

We have enjoyed these cameras so much, that we got my parents a couple for Christmas. They now own four of them! We had their safety in mind since they are at an age where falls pose a real problem.
